Miracles For Madison
Last night was truly miraculous as over 160 people came together to support a great cause. Baby Madison, daughter of Hoboken resident Stephanie Cohen, has been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Defect. At only 6 weeks old, she has been placed on the transplant list and is awaiting a new heart from a donor. With medical expenses being as high as they are, the community came together at Maxwell Pier Park in support of the Cohen family.
It was the wonderful ladies at Local Barre who put together and hosted a free Open Barre class with all proceed going directly to the Cohen family. Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes made an appearance as well, selling their delicious cakes as a way of donation. This may have been a free class, but once the class started it was clear that the instructors were not going to slack off for this fundraiser as they put those in attendance through a top class, total body workout under the glowing city skyline. The energy that they gave off was contagious and even got the people who were watching the event to start moving along. There is no denying the passion that Local Barre puts into their work or the drive that they have to over deliver on your expectations.
As the sun set, and the class came to an end, there was happiness in the air for a great event and a great deed done. Baby Madison remains in our prayers and in our hearts, and no matter what happens to the Cohen family, there is no doubt that they have a whole city behind them.
If you were unable to attend the event at Maxwell Pier last night, you are still able to contribute to the cause by donating to the GoFundMe campain at https://www.gofundme.com/2fh63ng.
